Natural skin care not your jam?
We encourage your to schedule a SSB consult or a consult with your local esthetician to help you find the products that meet your expectations.
Let’s get to swappin’!
St. Ives Apricot Scrub
Swap this with literally anything because we hate it. Just kidding about the “anything” part. Here at SSB we love baking soda for a thorough scrub, but you have to RESPECT it. Create a loose paste using water and massage onto skin using a circular motion with the middle two fingers. Perform ten circles in each area and move on. Pay close attention to finger pressure around the cheeks and nostril area. Rinse and repeat TWO-THREE WEEKS LATER. For a gentle daily exfoliation try using a clay like SSBs Rhassoul Clay or ground oatmeal in a pinch. For those with acne, clays and chemical exfoliants are your best alternatives.
Cetaphil
Hearing that people are still using foaming cleansers is like watching someone smoke. Seriously, it’s 2019, why? Besides the fact that foaming cleansers leave the skin tight and stripped of moisture, they tend to be made from ingredients that send strict naturalist into full blown rants over the “dirty dozen” of skin care. Swap it out with any non-foaming cleanser, jojoba oil or give SSBs Botanical Oil a whirl.
Dove
Another foaming cleanser. See above. But with a 1/4 moisturizing cream, doesn't that make it better? Hate to break it to you but that “cream” is actually an commercially processed form of steric acid, which, to be fair, is a highly emollient fatty acid. Swap out your Dove with its natural counter part jojoba oil which is made up of more that 70% steric acid.
In short, it is time to let go of 1992 and update your skin care. There are so many product alternatives at the same price point that deliver and support healthy and effective skin care. Have fun exploring and let us know what you swapped out!
That’s all I got. For now.
