Scrub N' Soak Milk Bath

In the spirit of KISS, we are starting off with this double duty Milk Bath recipe. Not only does it make a great relaxing soak; it also can be turned into an AMZAZING, luxurious skin softening scrub. And as much as I love using this in the bath, I almost never have time and end up using the scrub version of this recipe. It gives me a momentary aromatic indulgence when I’m in desperate need of a little pampering and have no time to do it.

This little piece of heaven is made with three simple ingredients: Milk powder, baking soda and epsom salts. Too basic for you? Spice it up! Literally. After all, we are at the height of baking season. Add up to two tablespoons of your favorite spice like cinnamon, cocoa, orange peel or allspice. You can also add 10-20 drops of essential oils or fragrance oils, making sure you also use a dispersant like polysorbate 80.

To use as a bath soak, pour entire mixture into a warm bath and gently agitate until dissolved. For a creamy scrub, add 1/4 cup of water to the mixture and stir until it becomes fluffy. Apply to skin, gently scrubbing, rinse and pat dry.

And with that said Safety First!

Essential oil PSA

Essential oils must be diluted.Water will not dilute essential oils (oil and water do not mix). When making bath products you will need to add an oil solublizer/ emulsifying agent like polysorbate 80 to your product. Polysorbate 80 will disperse your essential oils in the bath. Knowing that you have complied with basic essential oil safety protocol, you will have nothing to do but relax and enjoy your product.

FINALLY, it’s time to make some MILK BATH!!
